    Dear Colleague

In preparation for the industrial action ballot of NIPSA members a series of leaflets are being prepared as part of our plans to persuade members to vote yes in favour of strike action and action short of strike action. These leaflets will cover the broad issues leading to the dispute and the attacks on pensions, pay and jobs.

The timetable for distribution of these leaflets to members is as follows.

    Leaflet No 1 -
    General Background to Issues

    -

to be distributed by branches week beginning 12 September 2011

    Leaflet No 2 –
    Pay Freeze Leaflet

    -

to be distributed by branches week beginning 19 September 2011

    Leaflet No 3 –
    Pensions Leaflet

    -

to be distributed by branches week beginning 26 September 2011

The ballot papers will issue to members from Friday, 30 September and will close approximately 4 weeks later at a date to be determined. The leaflets will be available electronically but it is essential that direct personal contact is made with as many members as possible.

It is recommended that branches select one or two days in each of the above weeks to leaflet staff arriving for work in the mornings. This will complement the distribution of leaflets within offices and workplaces and meetings of members that are being organised by branches.

Supplies of the leaflets will be provided to branches in sufficient time to facilitate the leafleting exercises. If branches encounter any difficulties with the supply of leaflets please contact Lesley-Anne Scott at NIPSA HQ.

    Yours sincerely

    BRIAN CAMPFIELD

    General Secretary
