    Details of Other Trade Union Ballots by Sector

     Northern Ireland

     

    Education:

    INTO, Ulster Teachers Union, National Association of Schoolteachers/Union of Women Teachers, Association of Teachers and Lecturers and the National Association of Head Teachers.

    All 5 teaching unions in Northern Ireland are balloting their members throughout the education sector on pensions and staffing issues.

    UNITE and GMB are balloting members in this sector. UNISON has already balloted its members.

    Local Government:

    NIPSA, UNITE, GMB, SIPTU and UCATT.

    Health:

    NIPSA, UNISON (for the remainder of its members not previously balloted), UNITE, GMB, Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

    Civil Service, Agencies and Related NDPBs:

    NIPSA, PCS, Prospect, FDA, UNITE and GMB.

    This means that all unions representing civil servants are balloting their civil service members.

    Other Bodies:

    NIPSA is also balloting, as are the other unions, members in organisations that are members of the NI Local Government Pension Scheme (NILGOSC). This includes a number of housing associations.

    NI Housing Executive:

    NIPSA, UNITE and UCATT.

    Universities:

    University Colleges Union, NIPSA, UNITE and UNISON.

    Transport/Railways/Translink:

    TSSA, SIPTU, UNITE and GMB.
