CAMPAIGN FOR REINSTATEMENT OF SACKED TRAFFIC ATTENDANTS SUPPORT PROTESTS

    03/07/2009

    MONDAY 6th JULY           10.30am
    TUESDAY 7th JULY          09.30am
    WEDNESDAY 8th JULY    10.00am

You will be familiar with the NIPSA campaign to have the 26 sacked traffic attendants reinstated. These workers’ appeals against the dismissals are now scheduled to be held in the NSL Offices, 33 May St, Belfast City Centre on Monday 6th July, Tuesday 7th July and Wednesday 8th July.

NIPSA has organised a protest to coincide with the hearing of the appeals. We are seeking to bring the maximum amount of pressure on the employer in order to demonstrate that workers will not accept unfair treatment and that the community will not tolerate unacceptable employment practices and draconian action against these workers who provide an important public service.

On behalf of the Traffic Attendants campaigning to get their jobs back, I am urging Branches and activists to support the protest wherever possible.
