CCEA Staff to Protest Over Failure to Receive Pay Increases
15/04/2010
NIPSA members employed by the Council for the Curriculum, Examination and Assessment (CCEA) are holding a lunch time protest to-day at 12.30 p.m. – 1.00 p.m. regarding contractual pay increase due on 1st April 2009.

The protest will take place outside their main offices at 29 Clarendon Road, Clarendon Dock, Belfast.
Alison Millar, Deputy General Secretary, NIPSA stated ……
“It is an absolute scandal that 12 months after the payment was due that staff have not yet received their 1% pay increase.
Members many who are low paid have been used as a pawn between CCEA Management and the Department of Education regarding approval to pay.
To-day’s protest is borne out of frustration by members who have been more than patient.”
NIPSA have raised the matter with the Permanent Secretary of DE but to date no response has been received.
If to-day’s actions do not see a result then NIPSA will need to consider what further action may need to be taken to force the payment to be made to members.
