NIPSA, the leading public service union in Northern Ireland, is holding a protest tomorrow Wednesday 6 July at 12.30pm outside the DSD Minister’s office, Lighthouse Building, Gasworks Site, Ormeau Road, Belfast.
The protest is against the unwarranted attacks made by the Minister against the NIHE and the NIPSA members employed there who are angry at the recent statements made in the media by him.
Alison Millar, NIPSA Deputy General Secretary stated:
“It is absolutely outrageous that Minister McCausland seeks to articulate any concern he may have through the media and the airwaves. NIPSA totally rejects any allegations made by the Minister without due process being applied.
NIPSA do not accept there was either collusion or incompetence and the Minister’s statement is an unwarranted attack on hardworking Housing Executive employees.
NIPSA is writing to the Minister calling for him to publically retract the statements he has made through the media in the last few days. NIPSA will also be seeking to engage directly with him”.
