PROTEST OVER TREATMENT AND SUSPENSION OF
PROGRAMME MANAGER - EXTERN
NIPSA members at Extern have today organised a protest outside Extern premises at Fanum House, 104/110 Great Victoria Street, Belfast at 1.00pm today (Tuesday 27th July) concerning the alleged treatment of their Programme Manager for Adult Services.
NIPSA Deputy General Secretary, Alison Millar stated ……
“The Programme Manager for Adult Services has been suspended in January 2010 and staff are horrified at the treatment afforded to their manager who they believe in his 32 years service has always had the best interest of homeless people at the centre of his work. In fact staff have advised NIPSA Officials that in their view he supported, guided and inspired them as staff of Extern to work with homeless people and treated them with respect and dignity.
NIPSA members insist that Extern reinstate the Programme Manager for Adult Services with immediate effect and that Extern remove the culture of fear and threat which exists in the organisation and work with NIPSA to ensure this happens immediately.”
