NI Water 2010 Pay

As you will be aware from the recent briefing issued by NI Water Management an issue has arisen in relation to the implementation of year 2 of the 3 year pay settlement.

DFP have written to all public bodies which are covered by the Assembly Executive’s public sector pay policy, outlining the terms of the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s pay freeze announcement.
I had previously written to NI Water seeking confirmation that arrangements would be put in place to implement the terms of the agreement for this year. The response received was along the same lines as that in the communication to staff last week.
It is NIPSA’s clear view that the 3 year pay settlement entered into by both NIPSA and NI Water is a binding collective agreement and should be honoured by the organisation. I have written again to NI Water, seeking an urgent meeting to discuss the ongoing delay. A further bulletin will issue to members following this meeting.
