Dear Colleague
TRAVEL & SUBSISTENCE
As you will be aware Management Side have, despite representations from NIPSA, unilaterally decided to make significant detrimental changes to the Travel & Subsistence policy.
In relation to Subsistence Rates the NIHE have signalled their intention to reduce the amount paid by 50%. In addition it is the intention to remove the payment of excess mileage in the cases of promotion or secondment for any new secondment or promotion. NIPSA believes this will significantly disadvantage staff in being able to avail of secondment or promotion.
NIPSA have objected to the above proposals and are seeking a package of measures to challenge the position. As part of NIPSA’s response we are asking members to write to the Chairman objecting to the imposition of theses changes which will have a detrimental impact on members particularly in a time of pay freezes, job cuts and possible changes to pension contributions.
I would be grateful if you would take the time to print-off and sign the attached letter which can be accessed via this link http://www.nipsa.org.uk/Docs/Where-I-Work/Housing/am13063s. Please return the signed letter to John McCaffrey, Trade Union Side Secretary, NIHE, 2 Adelaide Street, Belfast, BT2 8PB.
Please do not send direct to the Chairperson.
Yours sincerely
ALISON MILLAR
Deputy General Secretary
