1.LEGAL SERVICES

Legal Advice on a Personal Matter
Members and their families are entitled to free initial legal advice on personal matters through the union’s solicitors on matters such as tenancy, hire purchase agreements or disputes with neighbours.

Access to this scheme is via the Executive Officer (Membership & Legal Services) at NIPSA Headquarters.

Legal Assistance (Personal Injury)Scheme
Any NIPSA member who sustains a personal injury as a result of an accident, whether or not this happens in the course of duty, contracts a disease at work or is injured as the result of the negligence of a third party has access to the union’s Legal Assistance (Personal Injury Scheme). Access to this scheme is via the Executive Officer (Membership & Legal Services) at NIPSA Headquarters.

Fixed Price Conveyancing
Competitive rates for conveyancing are available for members through NIPSA’s Solicitors McCartan Turkington Breen (MTB).

2.FINANCIAL SERVICES

NIPSA offers financial services for members through Platinum Financial an independent financial advisor. Members may receive free independent financial advice on all aspects of financial planning, tax efficient savings and investments and family protection.

Retirement Planning
NIPSA members have access to a free personal consultancy service in complete confidence, contact Platinum Financial . In addition NIPSA holds regular pre-retirement seminars. These are publicised through circulars, NIPSA News and on the NIPSA website.

3.INSURANCE SERVICES

"With effect from 18 ^th May 2005 Hughes and Company will offer NIPSA Members competitive terms for Motor, Home and Travel Insurance. Retired Members will also be able to benefit from the offers provided. Hughes and Company will also offer competitive terms for the Spouse, Partner, Sons and Daughters of Members and Retired Members."

4.GROUP PERSONAL ACCIDENT SCHEME

NIPSA pays a lump sum if a member dies or suffers permanent injury in certain circumstances. The circumstances are travelling between home and work, travelling as part of work or travelling on NIPSA business. If assaulted by virtue of being a civil or public servant and against being injured due to a bomb or other explosive device. Claim forms can be obtained from the Administration Officer (Ken Hood) at NIPSA Headquarters .

5.TAXATION AND ACCOUNTANCY SERVICES THROUGH NIPSA’s APPOINTED AUDITORS

NIPSA members and their families are entitled to an initial free consultation on all aspects of accountancy and taxation advice as well as reduced rates for ongoing advice.
